Welcome to MAFIPP Website

Making Access to Finance more Inclusive for Poor People – MAFIPP is a 4 year joint UNCDF-UNDP sector programme in Lao PDR which seeks to increase access to financial services by low-income households and micro entrepreneurs on a sustainable basis. In partnership with the Bank of The Lao PDR, MAFIPP works at the Macro, Meso and Micro levels. MAFIPP activity builds skills and capacity at the regulator level, while supporting microfinance networks, services providers and advocacy groups. MAFIPP also provides direct support to MFIs to expand their businesses, making them more responsive to financial needs of poor households and micro-entrepreneurs. Under the leadership of UNCDF and in cooperation with its partners, MAFIPP aims to increase the total size of the sector in Laos, measured through expansion of individual savings and credit clients, licensed financial institutions, outreach to women and other metrics. However, the underlying goal is overall reduction of poverty in Laos by half in accordance with MDGs.
